Ergonomic Equipment
At Schumann Inc. Engineering, we specialize in including "Human Factors in Machine Design". This is demonstrated in several ways:
- Designing equipment and parts for ease of maintainability
- Locating pushbuttons, switches, and labels intuitively
- Using multiple methods of controls identification where possible (i.e. color, labels, audible alarms)
- Making handles and controls comfortable and easy to grip
- Designing machines to use minimal human effort (i.e. counter-balancing, motion assist)
- Reduce likelihood of pinch points
- Including cast urethane covers or bumpers where needed to prevent injury
- Listening to input from operators to constantly improve the usability of our designs
